Information we collect

Depending on how you use the App, we may collect or process:

• Account information, including your email address, authentication identifiers, profile names, and session information used to create and secure your account.
• Library activity and saved content, including content you open or download, bookmarks, notes, highlights, annotations, reading progress, and profile preferences. Some downloaded content and annotations may also be stored locally on your device.
• Library companion chat, including questions you submit and the responses generated for you. Chat content is processed and stored so the App can provide answers grounded in your library and display conversation history.
• Purchase information, if paid content or subscriptions are offered. Apple processes payment details; we may receive transaction and entitlement information needed to provide access. We do not receive your full payment-card number from Apple.
• Technical and reliability information, such as IP address, device and operating-system type, app version, request logs, errors, and basic performance information needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the App.
• Support communications, including the message and contact details you provide when you contact us.

How we use information

• Provide and secure accounts, profiles, and App features.
• Deliver books, PDFs, audio, videos, downloads, and saved library activity.
• Process library companion questions and maintain chat history.
• Confirm purchases or subscription access when applicable.
• Prevent abuse, diagnose errors, maintain reliability, and improve the App.
• Respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the App, consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.

Library companion and automated processing

The library companion uses automated systems to answer questions about content in the App. Your message and relevant library material are sent to our cloud services and service providers to generate a response. Do not include sensitive personal information in chat messages. The companion is informational and does not make legal, financial, medical, employment, housing, or other high-impact decisions about you.

You can clear your conversation from the Chat screen.

How we share information

We disclose information only as needed to operate the App, follow your instructions, or comply with law. Recipients may include:

• Cloud service providers, including Amazon Web Services, which provides authentication, hosting, storage, content delivery, databases, APIs, and automated content-processing services.
• Apple, for App Store distribution, device services, diagnostics, and purchase processing when applicable, subject to Apple's policies.
• Professional advisers or authorities when reasonably necessary to protect rights, investigate abuse, or meet legal requirements.
• A successor organization if the App or our business is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale, subject to applicable law.

We do not sell personal information, use App data for third-party advertising, or track you across other companies' apps and websites for advertising purposes.

Retention and deletion

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the App, secure our systems, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Retention varies by data type. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed.

You may delete your account from My Account → Delete Account. You may also clear library companion history from the Chat screen. To request access, correction, export, or deletion, contact info@enlightenedgrove.com. We may verify your identity before completing a request.

Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without legally required consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

International transfers

We are based in the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above. We will provide additional notice when required.
